Judy Kennedy, Principal of Northview Heights Secondary School and CAVEAT are heartened by the students', patents', and staff's positive and caring response to the senseless beating death of their classmate Matty Baranovski. Students have produced a patch, both in memory of their friend and as a call for the end of violence in our high schools. The patch was the idea of student Tom DeLarzac who also provided the wording. Further design and production were a joint effort of School Council Chair Karen Nixon and Ha-Lo of Canada. To date over 7000 patches, reading In Memory of Matty Baranovski "Our Friend" - This Can Never Happen Again, have been sold with proceeds going to Kids Help Phone and CAVEAT.
