YOUTH FIGHTING VIOLENCE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
CAVEAT is pleased to announce the winners of the 1996 Youth Awards. These
young people are commended for anti-violence initiatives in their schools
and for making their communities better, safer places for all Canadians.
Ontario recipients will be presented awards at The Sheraton Hotel in Hamilton
tonight. Other recipients will receive their awards during special presentations
in their own communities.
Kristy Ozubko, Age 16, Thunder Bay, Ontario
Bishop Ryan Catholic Secondary School Step Squad, Hamilton, Ontario
Kids for Peace, Beacon Hill School, Beaconsfield, Quebec
Jenelle Gartner, Age 16, Victoria High School, Edmonton, Alberta
Healthy Relationship Program, Jasper Place High School, Edmonton, Alberta
5 winners from British Columbia will be announced in conjunction with the
CAVEAT BC Youth Challenge in Langley on October 21.
